Original Antique Maps and Prints. Description: From a series of 4 depicting the seasons. Published in Paris by Duchange, ca. Artists and Engravers: Made by A. Tronchon after Noel Nicol. Tronchon (active around 1760) was a French engraver who engraved several plates after Coypel and other masters. The son of Noel Coypel and half-brother to the more-famous painter Antoine Coypel, he was accredited to the Academie Royale in 1716. He was appointed a professorship in 1733. Subject: Antique print, titled:’L’ Ete’, (‘Summer’) Four putti with bushels of corn, representing summer harvest. Condition: Very good, given age. A small stain in the top margin.
