AN IOWAY CHIEF No. 91 RICE, RUTTER & CO, Publishers This is a vibrant example of the portrait of Chief NOTCHIMINE in his traditional costume and headdress. He has a red cape over one shoulder, and is holding a peace pipe with his official medal displayed. Their is some age related toning but the image remains beautiful. Page measures: 7″ wide x 10-1/2″ tall Hand colored lithograph color plates were by Henry Inman based on paintings by Charles Bird King, James Otto Lewis, and Peter Rindisbacher.
