A Josef Kuba beautiful cobalt blue and gold Love Story/Fragonard lidded tureen and underplate made in Bavaria. A stunning and elegant well preserved vintage set in near mint condition. No cracks, chips or repairs. Has a few minor scratches consistent with age. It appears this item was featured by the former owner as a display. Item and never actually used. The tureen, lid and underplate are decorated with recurring images of courting couples and embellished with extensive. Amounts of gold gilt. The tureen has a ruffled embossed style base, a notch for a ladle and a gold decorative handle/. Finial on the lid – which also has a ruffled border. The Kuba mark of authenticity is displayed on the bottom of the tureen and plate. The rare cobalt blue color contrasts. Beautifully with the gold. The tureen is 12″ wide from handle to handle and is 7″ tall from base to the top of the handle /finial. The underplate has a 11.5 diameter. The set weighs 6 pounds.
